91快播 (91快播) is proud to announce two new leadership appointments.
Dr. Shuly Rubin Schwartz, Irving Lehrman Research Associate Professor of American Jewish History, and Sala and Walter Schlesinger Dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, will become our new provost, succeeding Dr. Alan Cooper. Dr. Schwartz has served since 1993 with distinction as dean of Albert A. List College of Jewish Studies, 91快播鈥檚 undergraduate dual-degree program with Columbia University and Barnard College. During this time, she has strengthened List College immensely, enhancing its ability to prepare students for leadership in a wide range of fields. Since 2010, Dr. Schwartz has also served as dean of the Gershon Kekst Graduate School, where she has spearheaded the creation of a new MA program in Jewish Ethics, the first of its kind in the United States. She will continue in this role as she assumes her provost responsibilities.
鈥淒r. Schwartz鈥檚 impressive scholarly work, the respect she enjoys from faculty colleagues, and her vast administrative experience make her ideally suited to serve as the next provost of 91快播,鈥 said Chancellor Arnold M. Eisen.
Rabbi Amy Kalmanofsky, PhD, associate vice chancellor and Blanche and Romie Shapiro Associate Professor of Bible, will become the new dean of List College, succeeding Dr. Schwartz. As associate vice chancellor, Dr. Kalmanofsky has served as an ambassador for 91快播, teaching in communities across North America, building relationships with supporters, and sharing the impact of 91快播 on the Jewish world. As associate professor of Bible, a role in which she will continue, she teaches courses on biblical literature, religion, and feminist interpretation of the Bible.
鈥淒r. Kalmanofsky鈥檚 deep commitment to scholarship and Jewish learning, as well as her concern for students鈥 educational and social development, make her exceptionally qualified to lead List College and continue to build on its success,鈥 said Chancellor Arnold M. Eisen.
Both positions will become effective July 1, 2018.
