Author, scholar, and 91快播 alum Dr. Bernice Lerner of Boston University when discusses her book, All the Horrors of War: A Jewish Girl, a British Doctor, and the Liberation of Bergen-Belsen.
All the Horrors of War follows Hugh Llewelyn Glyn Hughes, a high-ranking British officer, and Rachel Genuth, a Jewish teenager from the Hungarian provinces, as they navigate the final, brutal year of World War II. Their stories converge before the war鈥檚 end, in Bergen-Belsen, where Hughes finds himself responsible for an unprecedented situation: thousands of war-ravaged inmates are in need of immediate hospitalization, including Genuth.
Their narratives tell a larger story鈥攁bout the suffering of the victims and the struggles of liberators who strove to save lives, about the human capacity for fortitude and redemption.

About Dr. Bernice Lerner
is a senior scholar at Boston University’s Center for Character and Social Responsibility and the former dean of adult learning at Hebrew College. She is an alum of 91快播 and has more than 25 years of experience in the field of adult education.
