Miller Cantorial School and College of Jewish Music of 91快播 (91快播) presents Craig Taubman in Concert, at which singer-songwriter Craig Taubman will debut an original liturgical composition by 91快播 student Gil Ezring. The concert will be at 91快播 in New York City on Thursday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $18, and free to students with a valid ID.

Through a workshop at 91快播, Gil was chosen to collaborate with Craig on a new song to be premiered at this concert. Gil wrote an original piece over the summer, 鈥淪halom Rav,鈥 and together they edited and polished it through a long process informed by Craig鈥檚 expertise and Gil鈥檚 creative energy. It will be performed for the first time at 91快播 on Thursday.

Craig鈥檚 eclectic musical style has made his recordings an integral part of the Jewish community. His top-selling releases include Friday Night Live, composed for a special Shabbat service held once a month at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles with Rabbi David Wolpe. Craig鈥檚 Jewish recordings weave song and spirit into the fabric of Jewish life.

Gil Ezring is a third-year student at H. L. Miller Cantorial School. He was a founding member of the band Rock HaRuach (now called The Ruach) at Temple Israel in Charlotte, North Carolina. The band plays Rock HaShabbat and Rock HaShanah services designed by Gil and his father, Temple Israel鈥檚 rabbi. Gil has been writing music with his sister for more than three years in a partnership they鈥檝e labeled AGEz.

H. L. Miller Cantorial School is home to some of the most accomplished and creative faculty in Jewish and religious music and voice. Its educators are composers, cantors, and artists who prepare and guide new clergy to lead and perform, and to preserve and teach Jewish musical tradition and prayer to new generations of congregants. Training includes performance preparation, as well as studies in nusah, prayer, text skills, and general music.
